2006 was a great year for the hunters who hunted with Double N Outfitters. We had over an 85% success rate, the few hunters who didn’t kill a bull had several opportunities to fill their tag. We also had two young men who killed their first elk (both bulls) with us this year. This year our biggest bull taken was about a 340″ bull. We had several 300″ class bulls taken this year also. Scot’s wife, Lynn, took her first bull with Double N Outfitters during the fall of 2005. It was a dandy, a 365″ bull.

We hunt in an area that is accessible only by horse or foot; this really cuts down the number of hunters in our area. This is probably one of the least pressured public-land hunt areas in the contiguous 48 states.

During our elk season at least 9 different bears; one was a magnificent cinnamon color and another was a truly big black; were spotted as well as several trophy mule deer bucks, moose, and mountain goats. If you want to hunt these species we can definitely tailor a hunt for these.
